Rio de Janeiro will be the stage this Sunday, (27), starting at 10 am, for a political-cultural act for justice and social well-being, at Praça do Lido, in Copacabana. The mobilization will focus on "Black women towards Brasília: against racism, for justice and good living".

The meeting will feature women from Baixada Fluminense, west zone, coast, south fluminense and mountainous region. In all, 15 caravans confirmed their presence, involving leaders from favelas, quilombos, terreiro communities, social movements, cultural groups and youth networks.

The walk will continue to Praça Almirante Júlio de Noronha, in Lido. The program includes cultural presentations, Afro-Brazilian artistic manifestations, face painting and reception of the caravans. The nearest metro station is Cardeal Arcoverde, about two minutes walk from the concentration site.

"Going out into the streets on Marielle's birthday is to reaffirm that her struggle remains. The March is a space for resistance, but also for building a future. We, black women, want to live and not survive. Live with safety, with health, with rights, with good living," says Clátia Vieira, coordinator of the Rio de Janeiro State Forum of Black Women.

During the act, a political manifesto with the main demands of Brazilian black women will be released.
