With additions, the average value of the benefit is R$667.49
The Caixa Econômica Federal pays this Monday (26) the May installment of the new Bolsa Família to beneficiaries with Social Security Number (NIS) ending in 6.
The minimum value corresponds to R$600, but with the new addition the average value of the benefit rises to R$667.49. According to the Ministry of Social Development and Assistance, this month the federal government's income transfer program will reach 20.46 million families, with an expense of R$13.64 billion.
In addition to the minimum benefit, there is the payment of three additions. The Nutriz Family Variable Benefit pays six installments of R$50 to mothers of babies up to six months old, to guarantee the child's food. Bolsa Família also pays an increase of R$50 to families with pregnant women and children aged 7 to 18 years and another, of R$150, to families with children up to 6 years old.
In the traditional Bolsa Família model, payment occurs in the last ten business days of each month. The beneficiary can consult information about payment dates, the value of the benefit and the composition of the installments in the Caixa Tem application, used to monitor the bank's digital savings accounts.
Beneficiaries from 168 cities received payment on Monday (19), regardless of NIS. The measure benefited residents of seven states, affected by rains or droughts or with indigenous peoples in a situation of vulnerability: Amazonas, Paraná, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, São Paulo and Sergipe.
The list of municipalities with early payment is available on the Ministry of Social Development and Assistance page.
Since last year, Bolsa Família beneficiaries no longer have the Seguro Defeso discount. The change was established by Law 14,601/2023, which rescued the Bolsa Família Program (PBF). Seguro Defeso is paid to people who survive exclusively on artisanal fishing and who cannot exercise the activity during the piracema period (fish reproduction).
Protection rule
About 3.02 million families are under the protection rule in May. In force since June 2023, this rule allows families whose members get a job and improve their income to receive 50% of the benefit they would be entitled to for up to 2 years, provided that each member receives the equivalent of up to half a minimum wage. For these families, the average benefit was R$366.07.
From next month, the length of stay under the protection rule will be reduced from 2 to 1 year. However, the change will only cover new families entering the transition phase. Those who qualified for the rule until May of this year will continue to receive half of the benefit for two years.
Gas Aid
This month there will be no payment of the Gas Aid, which benefits families registered in CadÚnico. As the benefit is only paid every two months, payment will return in June.
Only those included in CadÚnico and who have at least one family member receiving the Continuous Benefit (BPC) can receive Gas Aid. The law that created the program defined that the woman responsible for the family will have preference, as well as women victims of domestic violence.
