Mega event will have 4,480 places for athletes with disabilities
The 2028 Paralympic Games, which will be hosted in Los Angeles (United States), will have a total of 560 medal events (considering all 23 modalities), reported this Tuesday (3) the International Paralympic Committee (IPC, in the English acronym) and the Competition Organizing Committee.
In the same opportunity it was announced that the mega sporting event, which will be held between the 15th and 27th of August 2028, will have a total of 4,480 places for athletes with disabilities (80 more places for the Paris and Tokyo Games, which did not have the dispute of climbing, a novelty in the 2028 Games).
According to the statement issued by the IPC and the Organizing Committee of the 2028 Games, there will be 247 medal events for women and 267 for men. The number of open or mixed medal events is 46.
In the last edition of the Paralympic Games, which were held in Paris (2024), Brazil won its best campaign in an edition of the event, guaranteeing fifth place in the medal table with 25 gold medals, 26 silver and 38 bronze.
